The Cost Of Showing You Care

I think that people are spending too much of their money on gifts and not spending much time with their valentine. $50 for a date is reasonable, but $150 on jewlery is too much.

I agree people do tend to spend a lot of money on Valentine's Day it should be more about spending time with someone you truly care about. I'm not going to lie though I would not be upset if my Valentine went all out and bought me flowers and jewelry.

I think valentine's day is a holiday to show how much you love someone, and how much time you can spend with them. Not how much your gifts are... People do not need to go out and spend $100 on someone for valentines day... You dao that kind of thing on christmas.

Valentine's day is so over rated. It really is! Spending one-hundred dollars or over on someone for Valentine's day is kind of silly to me. Valentine's day isn't about the gifts it's about showing your love for someone. If you have to buy someone a gift in order for them to know you love them- then what kind of love do you really have?

Whatever people decide to do for Valentines Day is their business. If they choose to spend alot of money or barely spend any or even not at all. I dont really see a point in Valentines Day. You dont need to buy someone something just to show that you love them. Its just a scam to get better profits for businesses

Personally I would fork out the money If the woman I was with at the time was worth it. Now when I say worth it, I mean a Lady who deserves, who was been kind and caring. But when it comes to certain things its ridiculous. But even on Valentines Day it shouldn't matter what you got each-other, its the thought that counts. But on the other-side the companies who stock stores are getting a Big profit off this Holiday. Jewelers too get a big cut too. So in the end I guess Everybody is happy.

I think there is only a couple times a year you should really spend money on you valentine. because you still have to pay bills and every thing else. If you wanna spend $150 dollars on jewlery then go ahead just dont spend to much to were you have no money.

I think spending $ 100 to $ 150 is a okay price for such a romantic day as valentine's day. some say it's about spending time with the one you love...true it is but you can also sacifice a little to show your love and affection.

I think that spending time with you loved one is just as important as buying a gift. Spending 150$ is not to bad for valentines day but a little much just to show your love. I think that you should spend more money on christmas than valentines day.

I do agree that alot of people spend WAY to much money on Valentines day. Personally. I think you should spend time with loved ones or your girlfriend and enjoy the day without all the rush going around and just take her/him to dinner?

I think that most people are getting to materialist. they spend more time on trying to find somebody a gift than they acualy spend with them.

I can see why somebody would want to spend money on their special someone on valentines day. But to spend all that money on just jewlery is way too much. Yeah it is nice and sweet but would it not be more special if you just spent time together rather thatn spending hundreds of dollars on each other that probably wont last forever anyways.

I think everyony is spending WAY to much money on gifts and not spending any time with heir loved ones! It's crazy! I would rather not get a gift and just spend time with the one i love!

If you have someone that you really love then you can spend your money on how many gifts you buy. If she/he means that much then by all means don't let money stop you from expressing your love for her/him.

I think people will never spend to much to show they care as long as u care for the person it shouldnt matter what the gift cost.

Prices for jewelry and flowers are especially expensive during Valentines day. My boyfriend shows he cares with other things other than spending money. Like our first Valentines day three years ago, he got me a nice pillow and things that I still have kept and still use. He did the same last year, and made me dinner. Money doesn't mean anything to me. This past Valentines day, he wrote me a poem. That has meant the most to me. I would much rather see him do something for me that he worked on, than to go out and spend a ton of money on me, a lot of other people go all out on Valentine's Day, and I think its pointless.
