Hi, my name is Lisa Rowland and I teach JA Economics and AP Economics.

Students are expected to read a minimum of one article a week and either post one comment online, or turn in a hard copy of their comments in class.
My hope is that students will learn more about economics and gain more interest in the subject by reading and writing their thoughts on current events. The site clustrmap shows visitors from all around the globe, please email and let us know what you think of our site.

I think the new design of the five dollar bill looks nice. Also i like the new measures they have taken to insure people cant make a counterfeit copy of the bill. I believe that the treasury will come out with a new bill for the one dollar bill because its the only be that hasn't been revised in a while. In conclusion i think that the United States Currency is very efficient and the new dollar bill is good because it using good counterfeiting measures.
i think the new 5 looks retarded why should we need to make the same money with a different face. i think its kinda of a waste of money and materials. kinda like spending $10,000 on a hammer kinda a major waste. but the new design is different and neat looking but a still a waste of material to overhaul a 56 dollar bill
I think that they should redisine all the bills and coins that way it no one could counter fit the money and bussines and people dont get riped off and that way our nations is more secaure and people get what they desirve with there hard woking money instade off fakes that is what i think.
I think that it is a good idea to redesign the new 5 dollar bill so that no one would use counterfeit money.
For some reason our country keeps changing the face of our currency because they are paranoid that people will counterfeit the money. Maybe if prices weren't so high people would counterfeit money or steal from banks.
Why is the country taking the time and spending the money to reprint the five dollar bill when the value of the dollar is decreasing rapidly? Grant it, the new bill look better but I fear that soon the five wil lose its value just as the one did.
i think the new dollar bill didn't have to be changed i think it looked nice like it was before, but it is a good thing that they put the new measure in there to help people spot bogus bills of counterfeit
I think revising bills are a good idea because it makes it harder for people to make counterfeit money which will really help our economy. It will also make it easier for businesses to make sure they don't recieve the counterfeit money and don't have to pay for the counterfeit misshap. It would be a very smart thing for the government to revise all money payable to producers.
I dont really see a point in revising money. I believe that people will still find a way to counterfeit money regardless. It might help or it might not. I just dont see a point in revising money. I think it a waste of time and money just to do it
This is a really good idea. This way counterfeiting is not as likely to happen. Plus, the dollar bill looks nice.
I think the new design of the five dollar bill looks good. I mean money is money. I think it would cut down on people using and creating fake money. The govt. has to continue to change the way it looks so people don't figure out how to copy it.
The new design looks good and its also nice for them to make new desings for there money every so often because people are getting closer and closer to making better copies of fake money like this ten dollar bill that got passed off at my moms work it marked reall but it was fake so its a good idea to make new money
its a good idea to change the design on money every once and a while. it keeps things interesting. but we do not need to change it every 5 years or so...
I think the new five dollar looks harder to replicate than the other newer bills. I think they sould have spent the time and effort of the five dollar bill on the twenty and fifty dollar bill. Or put the effort into the 100 dollar bill. most countifiters would have spent more time trying to replicate the larger bill than the five dollar bill.
I think its pointless to make a new 5$ bill because the more changes they do to it the more valuable they are personally to people they wont want to spend it cause it looks nice or something it will be no good and will get even worse
I think the new design is sleek and good. I think our Economy is doing good with our money but we keep changing our currency like every year. Its not worth the hastle and I think its getting a little rediculous. I mean, change it once every 5 - 10 years maybe but not every year. gets lame.
I think the new dollar bill looks ugly. But i do not care because it is still worth the same amount of money. It is a good idea so that people cannot counterfeit the money. And they should do to all the bills.
I think the new design for the 5 dollar bill is cool. I'm a person that likes to change things up every once in a while so i think the new design will be something exciting to look forward to.
I think that the treasury changing the five dollar bill was a good idea , for one it allows people and businesses to spot conterect biils. But in a way I think that they should the same thing to all the bills that way you dont have a different technioque for checking to see if its fake or not.
I think the new five dollar bill is a dumb ideal because it is a waist of time to pay someone to design it its a waist money because people misuse it and in about a year it will be like the old five is now.
