Hi, my name is Lisa Rowland and I teach JA Economics and AP Economics.

Students are expected to read a minimum of one article a week and either post one comment online, or turn in a hard copy of their comments in class.
My hope is that students will learn more about economics and gain more interest in the subject by reading and writing their thoughts on current events. The site clustrmap shows visitors from all around the globe, please email and let us know what you think of our site.

So people are paying for cheap products pretty much and it's increasing their share profits?
I really don't understand because Dollar General and stores just like it aren't even visited as much as Walmart or Kroger. How could their share be increasing or whatever?
its good that the government is giving us money to spend but it sucks that we can only spend it at select stores :( we should be able to spend it where we want.
well we can only spend it at american companies which is good. its not like walmart where if u buy stuff the money goes to china. but i still think that we should be able to choose what american stores we spend it at.
Well, at least someone is doing good in all this mess....
Well duh the stock is going to go up the less money you have the less you want to pay. Dollar General sells good stuff for good prices so more peolpe are going to buy from them.
i hate the fact that we can only spend the money given to us at certain places. i think that a lot of people will start to shop and buy things at dollar general more often now.
The lower the prices the more sells that would be made. Dollar General's shares will keep increasing because their product is cheaper.
Not to repeat comments but, at least someone is going somewhere in this crash..

It would seem that some selective stores and places are benefitting from this economic recession. Its both brilliant and devious.
Prices are getting lower at dollar stores. So people will buy more than they normally do at dollar stores.
